Hexham Abbey Ringers’ North Norfolk Trip 2007

Our 2007 trip was to North Norfolk, + Lincolnshire & Cambridgeshire. The trip was from Saturday 28th July to Saturday 4th August. It was organised by Melanie Newman and Clive Moon.

A few of us stopped here on our way to Little Snoring. We did not have enough to ring the 12. We rang 8.

Sunday 29th July

We didn’t have lunch at the Lord Nelson at Burnham Thorpe, Nelson’s birthplace. There was also the Wells – Walsingham light railway, but most people were too busy cycling – into a head wind!

Another cycling day, perhaps slightly more energetic than Tuesday. Those interested in looking around Great Ryburgh who are not ringing there could have time on the way past, or another day, as it is only 3½  miles from the campsite.

Friday, 3rd August

 

Back to the seaside! No-one went on the North Norfolk railway from Sheringham to Holt after Cromer, but some of us did go swimming again. Good views from the tope of the tower at Cromer. Good meal + beer in the garden at the pub at Binham on the way back.

We were based at Crossways Caravan and Camping Park, Little Snoring (near Fakenham). Very basic facilities but good size and location
